Penguin & Whale
I was invited by Rudo to help with the art direction for this short film that tells a story about a penguin that is harmed by global warming.
The video was part of a campaign of the United Nations China and Tencent which promotes "International Youth Day" which helps to emphasize about the global problems and invites young people to talk about the future.
Initially I helped with some character design explorations, trying to find a style for the characters.
I also helped with the art direction along with the Rudo team, by creating a color script and color keys. The goal was to guide the designers to create styleframes that would be part of the same universe but at the same time tell a story with a dynamic arc. The challenge was to have the color help tell the story, while being affected by different weather and times of the day.
